Cherilyn Jolly-Nagel

Farmer. Speaker. Policy Advocate.

Cherilyn Jolly-Nagel along with her family, farm in Southern Saskatchewan and grow durum wheat, chick peas, barley, canola and lentils. They are proud parents of two young farm girls.

Cherilyn is an energetic speaker and has stepped in front of hundreds of audiences, from farming crowds to anyone who likes to eat!

Her topics include:  rebuilding public trust in food and farming, farm policy (it’s not just politics!), and connecting with urban cousins.

Her own life story ‘from Club Med to Camp Chickpea’ is a fascinating one that is relatable and inspiring for many audiences.  As an example of this, Cherilyn was invited to participate in the Barbie: You Can Be Anything Mentorship program to spend time with a young girl who dreams of being a farmer one day.

Cherilyn has traveled extensively around the world and has had the opportunity to represent wheat farmers views on international trade while participating in such events as the World Trade Organizations Ministerial Meetings in Hong Kong. Traveling abroad has given her a unique perspective and appreciation for the agricultural industry and the incredible food we grow here in Canada.

How do we describe Cherilyn?  Farmer, Story teller, Policy Advocate, Global Advocate

“I love to tell a good story and I get my kicks meeting new people and sharing farm stories with them. I have the ability to articulate heavy and complex issues in a way that makes them easier to understand. I love to argue and I enjoy having conversations with people who think differently. How fun to discover new ways of looking at the world and even better if you intelligently defend your own choices and decisions.” – Cherilyn

“Cherilyn is an engaging speaker and tells the facts as she sees them. With her experience in the agriculture industry and being a producer, audiences can relate to Cherilyn as she speaks from the heart.”

– Iris Meck, Advancing Women Conference

“Cherilyn Nagel really knows how to “Turn up the Volume” with an audience! She has a masterful speaking style that is both motivational and entertaining. She utilizes perspectives that are fresh, passionate, engaging and sorely needed with the changes modern agriculture is experiencing today. Our Conservation District will definitely be bringing her back for more!”

— Walt Edelen, Spokane Conservation District

“Thank you, Cherilyn for your presentation at our Annual Convention/AGM. The topic was relative to the audience and information was very engaging and informative with the young farmers & ranchers. From our evaluations Cherilyn received a resounding 100% excellent rating. This was obvious from the questions and interaction you had with them both during your presentation and afterwards.”
